Biography
- Dr. Fang Xiaohu earned his B.Eng. degree in 2008 and M.Eng. degree in 2011 from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and his Ph.D. degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2015. He pursued his postdoctoral training at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, and the University of Waterloo, Canada. In September 2021, Dr. Fang joined the School of Microelectronics, Southern University of Science and Technology, where he currently serves as an Assistant Professor, Associate Research Fellow, and Ph.D. Supervisor.
Research Achievements & Academic Services
- Dr. Fang’s research focuses on radio-frequency integrated circuits (RFICs), RF front-end circuits, and high-performance microwave and millimeter-wave wireless transmitters. His research endeavors primarily target the development of broadband, high-efficiency, low-cost, and reusable RF front-end solutions for B5G and 6G wireless communication systems. To date, he has authored over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, including more than 15 IEEE SCI papers published in prestigious journals such as IEEE TMTT, MWCL, TCAS-I, and TCAS-II as the first or corresponding author. Notably, he has published eight first-author papers in IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, the top-tier journal in the microwave circuit research community. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and regularly serves as a reviewer for internationally recognized journals and conferences, including IEEE TMTT, IEEE MWCL, IEEE TCAS-I, IEEE TCAS-II, and the MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS).
- As the principal investigator of his research group, Dr. Fang has made significant progress in developing core technologies for advanced RF chips dedicated to 6G and satellite communication systems. He has successfully completed the Young Scientists Fund project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Currently, he leads two ongoing research projects, including the General Program of NSFC and the General Program of Guangdong Basic and Applied Basic Research Foundation. Additionally, he participates in key industrial R&D programs, fundamental research initiatives, and major technological breakthrough projects funded by the Shenzhen municipal government. As the first inventor, he has filed 10 invention patents, four of which have been officially authorized.
